The state is divided into 9 watershed regions. We are Region 3.
The LWI Mission:
Reduce flood risk and improve floodplain management across the state, including through maximizing the natural and beneficial functions of the floodplains.
Upcoming Activities
As part of the Regional Capacity Building Grant, a Regional Watershed Plan will be developed. Halff, a firm from Shreveport, has been contracted to work with the region on developing the plan. This firm has extensive experience in watershed planning and is a leading watershed modeling firm in the south.
We will be scheduling outreach meetings to get input from stakeholders within our region.
